BACK TO TEAM

Scott thrives when assisting clients to resolve complex issues, overcome barriers and achieve meaningful growth. His toolbox includes coaching, facilitation, fostering true dialogue and creating innovative solutions by working to strengths. Scott’s Maori title is ‘Kaiwhakangawari Kaupapa’ – translated as bringing ‘ease’ to the fulfilment of purpose. It describes his ability to awaken the potential present, increase perspectives and understanding, thus leading to achieving purpose at depth.

Scott’s vocational journey started as a geophysicist which awakened a hunger to live more sustainably. He worked as an environmental campaigner and mediator gaining a reputation for bringing together people from different ends of the spectrum. Along the way, he worked with marginalised sectors of society using the outdoors as a healing classroom. As Senior Advisor Organisation Development for NZ’s Department of Conservation he supported leaders through numerous organisational and cultural changes. In his private practice, he facilitates across sectors such as the UN Oceania Humanitarian Summit and assists corporates to put their values into action, as well as coaching leaders.

Scott is certified with the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) as a professional facilitator (CPF) and as a provider of Team Management Services products. He trained as coach with Growth Edge Coaching as well as Zenergy International. His toolbox also includes Art of Hosting, Open Space Technology, World Café, Circle Work and Systems Thinking. He holds a Master of Science in Geophysics, is a Dru yoga teacher and very competent in the outdoors.

Scott lives in a rural community in Te Wai Pounamu, the South Island of New Zealand/Aotearoa. With his partner, Maria, he looks after a large organic garden, explores the outdoors on foot and by bicycle, and together they are caretakers of 36 ha of native forest which doubles as a retreat and nature learning space.
